It’s an interesting thing to be a women in business.
I started when I was very young. During a time where I could have been discounted for being too young. Too smiley. Hair too curly. I’m grateful for each experience. Even the ones that made me want to shrink. I learned how to confidently walk into rooms that I never would have thought I belonged in. Places and countries where I learned so much about who people are, their working code, and how it shows up in their business.
This month, when we are celebrating so many amazing women, the ones who came before us and made this possible and the ones who stand with us now, I want to remember her. The young girl who never met a challenge she ran away from, the girl full of grit, who if something scared her, she faced it head on. The one who worked countless hours, and looking back now, maybe there was something deeper underneath getting lost in the work or seeking stability. Maybe what drove her was trying to prove to herself she could do it. That she was smart enough. Smarter than the 6 year old version of herself that failed all those tests because she couldn’t understand the language.
And to this sweet girl, I say, I hope you’ve found your peace. I hope we learn a rhythm that feels good in our bones. I hope when our heads hit our pillows at night, we finally allow ourselves to rest.
And to all the women everywhere who grew up being told they weren’t enough or they were too much, you must know one truth: there was never anything wrong or unlovable about you. You were just a sweet kid wanting to be loved. May you find that anchoring safety of unconditional love even if it’s just within yourself.
This International Women’s Month, I invite you to remember and cherish her. The little girl you were. She would be so proud of you. Connect with her today and give her one thing she needed to feel loved, seen, valued, and understood.
May you enjoy everything you’ve worked so hard to create and allow yourself the freedom to fully live.
If this resonated, you belong with us.
